Preparing for the New Leasing Standard and its Deferred Tax Implications

In February the FASB issued its new lease accounting standard, ASU 2016-02, Leases (Topic 842). This new standard will affect all companies that lease, or sublease, property, plant or equipment. In addition to significantly changing lessee accounting by requiring most leases to be recognized “on balance sheet,” application of the new guidance may create new, or alter existing, temporary differences related to leases. "Have Gun, Will Travel" was a popular TV western in the early 1960's. Paladin (the hero) was a mercenary or soldier of fortune who accepted commissions from people seeking his services, but would often work for free when the poor needed his help. If you fast forward fifty years, have gun, will travel, represents an ordinary citizen who has met the legal requirements to be issued a concealed carry license from the State of Illinois. Our speaker is an attorney and qualified firearms instructor. He will make a detailed presentation discussing the legal aspects of the Illinois Concealed Carry Act including what it does, what it doesn't do, and what it was intended to accomplish.
